Reproduction of the Qianlong “flower-appreciation vessel”. The body of the pot is painted with hundreds of flowers, and the lid knob is in the form of a bud. The enamel is stacked to create the thickness of the petals, which are moist to the touch. According to the Chronicle of the Ministry of the Interior, the ten-thousand-flower motif is an auspicious vessel for “enjoying flowers in an ordinary way”, signifying “ten-thousand flowers offering good fortune”.
